Therapeutica Pillows: Lineup, Sizes and How to Choose
A Therapeutica pillow is a shaped cervical pillow sold in body sizes, not bed sizes, so the first choice is the size and the second is the firmness. Every bed pillow in the lineup is listed as cervical / contour, and the travel pillow is its own thing. I'm Margo. I read pillow listings the way I used to read a housekeeping schedule: what's written down counts, and everything else is a rumor.

What Therapeutica makes
Therapeutica makes shaped sleeping pillows. On Amazon US the lineup is small and focused: cervical bed pillows in several versions, and a travel pillow. There are no comforters, sheets or throws under the name, and no regular rectangular bed pillows.
Every Therapeutica bed pillow in our data is listed as a cervical / contour pillow. That means a shaped pillow with a dip for your head and a raised edge under your neck. The listings sell them in body sizes, such as Petite, Average and Large, rather than standard, queen and king.
Some listings are the pillow alone. Others are bundles, a pillow paired with a cover or a pillowcase, and those have their own listings and their own page in the table above. If two cards look almost the same, check the title for "cover" or "case". That's usually the difference.
How to read a Therapeutica listing
Here's the rule I use for any shaped pillow: the listing has to tell me the shape, the size and the firmness. Therapeutica's listings mostly do. Here's what our data has, field by field.
- Pillow type: cervical / contour on every bed pillow
- Size: the maker's own sizes, as listed
- Firmness: firm on most, medium on one Lite listing, blank on some
- Sleep position: combination / all on the Ergonomic Cervical Pillow
- Cover: polyester/cotton on the Sleeping Pillow listings
- Care: cover machine-washable only, on most listings
What's missing matters too. Our data has no fill material and no loft (height in inches) for any Therapeutica pillow. The listing titles describe the foam in marketing words, but the fill is one of the fields we only write down when it's confirmed, and it isn't. So the table leaves it blank. A blank means nobody stated it in a way we can use. It doesn't mean the answer is no.
I'd rather you know that than read a guess. (I spent 22 years at a hotel learning that a guess about a pillow ends with a guest at the front desk at midnight.)
Lineup notes
Ergonomic Cervical Pillow: the one that names a sleep position
The Ergonomic Cervical Pillow is listed as cervical / contour, sold in maker sizes, firm, with the cover machine-washable only. It's also the one listing in the line that states a sleep position: combination / all. That's the listing's way of saying it isn't built only for back sleepers or only for side sleepers.
The listing comes in several size and color variants under one product, so pick the size before you pick anything else.
Cervical Orthopedic Pillow and Cervical Pillow: firm, sized, several listings
The Cervical Orthopedic Pillow shows up on several listings, mostly bundles, and the Cervical Pillow on one more. Our data gives them the same basics: cervical / contour, maker sizes, firm, and the cover machine-washable only (one bundle listing doesn't state care). The difference between the cards is mostly what comes with the pillow.
"Orthopedic" is a product type here, not a health claim. It names the shaped style of pillow. It doesn't tell you what it will do for your neck, and we don't say it will.
Lite Cervical Pillow: the one stated as medium
The Lite Cervical Pillow is listed as cervical / contour, in maker sizes, with the cover machine-washable only. One Lite listing states a medium firmness; the other doesn't state firmness. In a line that is mostly firm, that one medium listing is the only stated softer option.
If you know you don't like a firm pillow, that's the listing to read closely. If the firmness field is blank on the version you're looking at, don't assume it matches its sibling.
Sleeping Pillow: the cover is stated
The Sleeping Pillow appears on three listings. Each is cervical / contour, in maker sizes, with a polyester/cotton cover that's machine-washable only. It's the one bed pillow in the line where our data has the cover fabric. Firmness isn't stated on these listings.
Travel Pillow: firm, with the maker's own health wording
The Travel Pillow is listed as firm. One listing says it "Reduces symptoms of neck pain and stiffness"; another says it may "help reduce neck discomfort and support restful sleep". Those are the maker's words, quoted as written. We don't repeat them as fact and can't confirm them. One travel listing states the cover is machine-washable only.
It's not a bed pillow, so it doesn't follow the body-size system in our data. For travel pillows from other makers, with shapes and fills side by side, see the travel pillows page.
How to choose within the Therapeutica lineup
Start with the size, because it's the main choice
A cervical pillow sold by body size works differently from a bed pillow. Standard, queen and king are about how wide the bed is. Petite, Average and Large are about you. Bigger sizes usually mean a taller neck roll, which is why side sleepers with broad shoulders often end up in the larger sizes.
I won't give you a shoulder-width chart. We don't have one from the maker, and inventing one would be worse than useless. Use the maker's sizing method from the listing or the insert. If you're between sizes, the listing's own guidance decides, not my opinion.
One more thing about sizes: they live inside the listing as variants. A single Therapeutica product page can hold Petite, Average and Large, sometimes in more than one color. The card in our grid shows one of them. When you open the listing, check which size is selected before you add it to the cart. It's the easiest mistake to make and the most annoying one to send back.
Give a new shaped pillow a fair trial. Your neck has spent years on whatever pillow you had before, and the first few nights on any new shape feel odd. If it still feels wrong after a week or two, that's information too. Check the return terms on the listing before you buy, so you know how long you have.
Then firmness
Most of the line is listed as firm. One Lite listing is listed as medium. That's the whole range in our data. If you've slept on soft pillows for years, a firm shaped pillow can feel like a big change, so read the firmness field on the exact listing you're buying.
Then the cover and care
Housekeeping rule: a pillow you can't keep clean doesn't stay on the bed. Most Therapeutica listings say the cover is machine-washable and the pillow itself isn't. That's normal for shaped foam-style pillows. Put a pillow protector or the matching case over it, wash the cover on the schedule the tag gives, and spot clean the rest as the insert says.
Read the care tag before the price tag. It tells you more about the next five years than the title does.
Then whether you need the bundle
Bundles pair a pillow with a cover or case. If you already own a case that fits a shaped pillow, the plain pillow listing is enough. If you don't, a bundle saves you hunting for a case in an odd size. Standard pillowcases often don't fit shaped pillows well, and a tight case pulls the roll flat.
Who should skip Therapeutica
A cervical pillow isn't for everyone, and that's fine. Skip this line if:
- You sleep mostly on your stomach and want the flattest pillow you can find
- You like to fold, punch or hug your pillow into a new shape every night
- You want a pillow you can put straight in the washer
- You want the fill and loft in writing before you buy
For stomach sleepers, thin pillows are the better starting place. For adjustable fill you can add or remove, see adjustable pillows. And if you'd like to compare shaped pillows from several makers in one table, the cervical pillows and ergonomic pillows pages do exactly that.
At the hotel, the shaped pillows came back from the laundry in their own bin, because nobody could fold them. I put that bin on the bottom shelf of the archive at home too. Old habits, good habits.
About the health wording
Some Therapeutica listing titles talk about neck pain. People search for "Therapeutica sleeping pillow for neck pain", and I understand why. Here's how we handle it.
We describe the shape, the size and the firmness, because those are facts on the listing. When a listing makes a health claim, we quote it and say it's the maker's wording. We don't say any pillow treats or relieves pain. A pillow can be comfortable or uncomfortable for you; it isn't a treatment.
If your neck hurts most mornings, or the pain spreads, tingles or keeps getting worse, that's a conversation for your doctor, not a pillow page. Our guide on how to sleep with neck pain covers general information and points you there too.
Where Therapeutica fits among cervical pillows
Therapeutica sells one kind of thing and sells it in body sizes. That makes it easy to read and narrow to choose from. Other makers sell shaped pillows with the fill and loft stated, in bed sizes, with adjustable inserts, or with cooling covers described on the listing.
If one of those fields matters to you, compare it in the comparison notes below or on the best pillows for neck pain list. That list follows a stated rule based on the listing wording and specs, not a promise about relief.

Questions about Therapeutica
Who makes Therapeutica pillows?
Core Products International, Inc. owns the Therapeutica line and names Therapeutica and Tri-Core among its top-selling sleeping pillows. The company is based in Osceola, Wisconsin, with a second facility in Chetek, Wisconsin. Core Products announced it acquired Therapeutica, Inc. of Toronto effective January 23, 2015. Most Therapeutica listings we checked on Amazon US are sold by Core Products International.
How do I choose a Therapeutica pillow size?
The bed pillows come in the maker's own sizes, such as Petite, Average and Large, instead of standard, queen and king. The size is about your body, not your bed. Follow the maker's sizing method on the listing or insert. We don't publish a shoulder-width chart for these pillows, because we don't have one from the maker and won't invent one.
How do you use a Therapeutica pillow?
Follow the instructions that come with it, because the maker decides which edge goes where. In general, a cervical pillow has a center dip for your head and raised rolls under your neck, and many have a lower and a higher side. Give one position a few nights before you flip it. Our guide to using a cervical pillow walks through the general steps.
Does a Therapeutica pillow help with neck pain?
We can't promise that, and no pillow fixes pain. One travel pillow listing says it "Reduces symptoms of neck pain and stiffness", and that's the maker's wording, not our finding. What the listings do state is shape, size and firmness. If neck pain keeps up, talk to your doctor before you buy anything.
Is there a Therapeutica pillow warranty?
We couldn't confirm warranty terms from our data, so we won't guess. Check the warranty section on the Amazon listing before you buy, and keep the insert that comes in the box. Warranty terms can differ by product and by seller, so read them on the exact listing you buy from.
Can I buy Therapeutica pillows in Canada or the UK?
This site checks Amazon US only, with delivery to a US ZIP code. We don't track other countries or other stores, so we can't say what's stocked there. The table above shows what was live on Amazon US at our last weekly check.
